易平教授是美国俄亥俄州阿克伦大学终身教授、美联邦直属俄亥俄州交通研究中心主任,重庆交通大学“巴渝海外引智计划人选”，曾任中国旅美交通学会主席并被聘为美国交通运输研究委员会委员,美国国家研究委员会创新技术研究计划智能交通专家。易平教授长期从事道路交通网络优化、交通信号智能控制、先进智能交通传感器研发及区域交通控制方面的科研与教学工作,在国际交通学界顶级期刊Journal of Transportation Research Board(TRB)上针对区域交通控制、交通信号控制算法、交通网络规划、交通信息检测与控制等领域发表多篇有影响力的论文，多次主持国际会议并编辑论文集,获得了ITS、ITE、ASHE等众多学术组织成员资格。

课程简介：
To utilize the big data opportunities andhelp tackle the challenges for widespread acceptance of smart cities, thisshort lecture course is offered to teach students and researchers advanced dataanalysis techniques and computer modeling skills to process transportationsystem data obtained from various detection/sensing technologies or a series oflarge-scale data survey efforts. For improved system reliability, safety andefficiency, the discussed topics cover unconventional data processing methodsthat draw support from a wide range of fundamental knowledge and applicationexperiences in math, statistics, and computer simulation.
